4.guess
1)動詞guess 可直接帶賓語,也可接at 介詞短語,可接復合賓語或that從句。
1>Can you guess (at) the price?

3>I guess her to be over thirty.=I guess that she is over thirty.
注:習慣上在名詞answer 或it前不用at。如:He guessed the right answer.(他猜出了正確答案。)You guess it.(你猜猜看。)
注:give a guess或 make a guess均表示“作一猜測”的意思。
2)guess 可用來表示“覺得”,“認為”,=think

注:believe, suppose, guess, find, feel許多時候可接 that從句,在意思上相當于think。
5. character
1) a Chinese character意為“一個漢字”。
1>In the beginning (=At first) they used to carve Chinese characters on stones to record important dates in history.
起初他們常常把漢字刻在石頭上以記載歷史上的重要日子。
2) character表示小說、戲劇、電影等中的“人物,角色”。
1>I find all the characters in his new play amusing and interesting.

8.invent
1)invent=create or design something not existing before,“發(fā)明”、“創(chuàng)造”

2>Edison invented the electric light. 愛迪生發(fā)明了電燈。
[注意]Invent指創(chuàng)造發(fā)明以前不存在的東西或方法,指發(fā)現不為人們所知但大自然實際存在的事物。
2)invent還可用來表示“虛構”或“捏造”一個情況,=make up or think of。

1)form v.“形成”、“建立”、“養(yǎng)成”的意思。
1>These pieces of bamboo or wood were tied together to form a book.

2>A sentence is formed by putting words together in a proper order.
將單詞以正確的順序排列在一起就形成了一個句子。
3>Steam forms (is formed)when water boils.水一沸騰,蒸汽就形成了。
4>They formed(=set up) a trade union to organize all the workers.

5>We have formed (=set up) a class for beginners in French.

[注]form the habit of …=fall/get into the habit of…,在意思上接近。get used to…,表示“養(yǎng)成了習慣”。

2) n.“形狀,形態(tài)”;“形式,方式”;“表格”。
1>Ice, snow and steam are different forms of water.冰、雪和蒸汽是水的不同形態(tài)。
2>This verb has two past forms.這個動詞有兩種過去時形式。
3>Please fill in the form in ink.請用鋼筆填寫這張表格。
搭配:take the form of…采取…的形式 in any shape or form無論什么形式
12.include
1)include vt. “包括”、“包含”
1>This plan includes most of your suggestions.這項計劃里包括了你們的大部分建議
2>The group included two engineers and twenty workers.
這個隊共有兩名工程師和二十個工人。
[注] include +doing
My job doesn’t include making coffee for the boss.我的工作并不包括為老板煮咖啡。
2)including 作介詞,后接名詞、代詞或名詞性從句作賓語。 Included用作形容詞,有被動含義,應放在名詞/代詞之后。試比較:

2>At least 20 persons got hurt, including 3 policemen.
3>All of us, Gary included, will make a trip to London next week.
13.by+doing “用……方式”、“憑靠……手段”
1>I make a living by teaching English at school.我以在學校教英語為生。
2>The boss has made a lot of money by selling building materials.
老板(通過)賣建筑材料賺了很多錢。
3>We can learn spoken English well by pactising speaking English a great deal both in and out of class. 通過課堂內外大量的講英語訓練,我們可以學好英語口語。
mise
1)vt. “答應”、“許諾”。
(1)promise+n./pron. promise sth., promise sb. sth.
1>He that promises too much means nothing.許愿太多的人是不打算兌現的。
2>I’m afraid I can’t promise you anything.恐怕我們什么也不能許諾給你。
(2)promise to do sth./promise sb. to do sth.
1>I never promised to obey her orders.我從未答應過要服從她的命令。
2>Promise me never to trouble me again.答應我決不再麻煩我。
(3)promise+that-clause,有時可帶間接賓語。
1>He promised he would never do it again. 他答應以后再不這樣干了。 2>He promised that he would pay back the money within two weeks. 他答應兩周內還錢。

3)link-verb, “預示著”、“有可能”

4.n. “諾言”,常作可數名詞。

16.back to front穿反了
back to front是合成詞,由“名詞+介詞+名詞”構成,在句中作狀語,如果詞與詞之間有連字符連接,相當于形容詞。

1. in surprise, to one’s surprise
1)in surprise意為“驚奇地”常位于動詞之后作狀語,表示方式。
1>John turned around and looked at me in surprise.約翰轉過身來,驚奇地望著我。
2>“A farmer?” said the Frenchman in surprise.“農夫?”那個法國人驚奇地說到。
2)to one’s surprise /to the surprise of sb.意為“使人吃驚的是”、“出乎意料地”,常位于句首,作狀語,表示行為的結果。類似的結構有:

2. job, work, works,labour
1)job 常指具體一件工作,是可數名詞。work泛指所有長期的或短期的需要體力或腦力的工作,是不可數名詞,通常與job替換使用。如:
1>He did a lot of useful jobs/work.
2>I can not find work in this town.
3>Thousands of workers lost their jobs when the factory closed.
2)好的工作或特別困難的工作,習慣上用job,另外,quite a job也是表示特別困難的工作。如:

注:make a good/fine job of sth.做得好。

4)labour多指艱苦的、緊張的、勞累的體力勞動,也指腦力勞動。一般不用來指具體概念。如:

3. method, way, means
1>二者都可以表示“方法”。way是普通用語,指做事的方法,也可指思想方法,生活方式等。如:
There’s only one way of doing this properly.
The way she spoke hurt me.
What is best way to make tea?
That’s English way of living.
2) method 指系統(tǒng)的、具有一定理論性的方法,強調條理性和高效率。如:
>>method 后面可接to do sth./of doing sth.
We must improve the method of teaching English.
You should use different methods to solve different problems.
>>如果表達用什么方法,常用介詞with或by搭配。
If you do it with this method, you’ll succeed.如果你用這種方法做,你會成功的。
>>way表示用什么方法時,常與介詞in搭配而means則常與by搭配,也就是說in this way, by this means, with/by this method.
3. everyday, every day
1)everyday adj.常用作定語,意為“每日的;日常的”,如: everyday life(日常生活),everyday English(日常英語)等。 2)every day是名詞詞組,常用作狀語,意為“每天地;天天地”。
1>He can speak everyday English very well.
2>Teaching the students English is my everyday job.
3>I teach the students English every day.
4>The film is about American everyday life.
5>They go to school every day except Sunday.
[典型例題分析]
例1 I would love____ to the party last night but I had to work extra hours to finish a report.

分析 此題中would love/like后須跟不定式,不接動名詞作賓語,由此可排除C 、D。又 would love to do sth.表示現在或將來的愿望,顯然與本題語境不符,因而排除A 。正確答案為B 。大意為:昨天晚上我本想參加那個晚會,但我不得不加班了幾個小時來完成一份報告。would love to have done表示希望做但未能做成。
如:I’d like to have come over to see you last night, but someone called and I couldn’t get away.昨晚本想來看你,但有人找我,脫不開身。

分析 答案為B. 此題中的關系代詞whose 指物,可與of which 替換,指人時可與of whom替換。如:

一、教學內容分析
(一)、知識背景及新課程、新教材
本單元圍繞the Silver Screen(影視) 這一主題開展聽、說、讀、寫多種教學活動。影視作為人類文明的一大體現,作為當今社會人們主要休閑、娛樂方式之一,是一個非常貼近生活、具有時代性、可挖掘性的教學主題。
本單元所選的語言素材涉及中外名片、著名演員、著名導演, 具有典型的時代氣息,有利于學生了解外國文化,增強世界意識。正如新課程標準中的教學建議所提:學習中文影視文化有利于“拓展學生的文化視野,發(fā)展他們跨文化交際的意識和能力”;在利用現代教育技術觀看影視片斷、影視海報的教學過程中,“拓寬了學生學習和運用英語的渠道”;同時本單元的教學對教師本身的中外文化修養(yǎng)、廣闊的知識面等方面有非常高的要求。

三、教學步驟
(一) Warming up
這部分的重點是引出本單元的話題---電影,了解學生對電影的熟悉程度并充分發(fā)揮學生的想象力。同時訓練學生說的能力。
活動步驟:
1.師生互動:教師提一些問題如Do you like seeing films? How often? Favorite actor? Actress? Film? 在此過程中教師可展示一些學生熟悉并喜歡的名演員、名片的海報,從視覺上激發(fā)學生對本話題的興趣。
2.小組活動:教師選取幾副不同題材的電影畫面(可選取教材外的其它畫面),要求學生進行小組合作,每小組選一幅畫面進行討論What is happening in this scene? What happens before/after the scene? 要求學生不拘泥于已知的電影內容,發(fā)揮自己的想象力,給出各種不同的觀點。
3.班級活動:向班級其它同學描述本小組所選圖片,其他同學可給出不同意見。
(二)listening
本單元的聽力是培養(yǎng)學生捕捉特定信息的能力,并讓學生熟悉interview這種形式。Task: To discuss what questions the reporters will ask when interviewing famous directors.
活動形式:
1. 師生互動:教師設置開放性的問題,進一步啟發(fā)學生思考,并為過渡到聽力部分做準備。問題可設置為:Of course these films now are very popular and successful, and what does the success of the films bring to the actors? 學生各抒己見,金錢、榮譽、名氣,成為公眾人物后帶來一個問題They received a lot of interviews。
2. 小組活動:教師引出問題What questions will you ask when interviewing an actor?通過小組討論,收集盡可能多的問題,一方面讓學生預測聽力中可能會出現的問題,同時也對interview這種形式有所了解。

本單元說的任務是利用閱讀所得信息開展對名演員的interview,從而提
高學生在真實語境中的交際能力。教師還可讓學生嘗試當演員,從而對

在教學過程中,先利用圖片,實物等教具對學生進行直觀的教學,使之有更清晰的認識后,再輔之以語境,利用語境來推測詞義,達到猜詞的效果。如給出The Matrix和The Matrix Reloaded的電影海報,學生很容易得出:The Matrix Reloaded is the follow-up of The Matrix。通過這樣的鋪墊,學生在做第七小題時,只要利用好文中的線索Speed II, Jurassic Park III就可以輕而易舉的得出follow-ups。
(五)Pre-reading
此部分的關鍵在于讓學生了解如何制作電影,尤其是通過了解電影的制
作而突出導演的重要作用。Task: To experience being a director (write one scene of the film and act it out).
活動形式
1.師生互動:教師提問If you want to make a film, who do you
need to invite?通過此問題引出電影制作過程中所需的各種角色,如photographer, actor/actress, editor, director等等

Step 3 Writing
Ask the students to read the e-mail and find out what the girl wants to know more about. Tell the students to think about what they want to tell the girl. As a pre-writing activity, the students can list the things they want to include in the e-mail. When the students have written the e-mail, you can compare what they have written.
ASSESSING
A learner log is a set of questions that will help the students to reflect on how and what they have learnt. The students are asked to rate their “comfort level” and summarize what they have learnt. You can use this as an activity in class or let the students complete the log at home. Throughout the book we offer different assessment tools and we recommend that you try as many of them as possible. 一、重點詞匯與短語
1.like的用法小結:
like既可以作動詞又可以作介詞,表達不同的意思,但是在使用中,總是出錯。請注意以下提示:
(1)like:作介詞使用,意思是“如同,像,和…一樣;例如,諸如”。

I wish I could sing like her. 我希望能像她那樣唱歌。

3.suggest的用法:
(1)suggest表示“提議;提出;建議”的意思,后面常接動詞-ing形式,不能接不定式;接that從句時,常用虛擬語氣,即should + 動詞原形,其中,should可以省略。
例如:
She suggested going there by train. 她建議坐火車去那里。
She suggested that we (should) go there by train.
她建議我們坐火車去那里。
I suggested that we (should) do it like this. 我建議這樣做。
(2)suggest還可以表示“暗示;顯出”的意思。后面接that從句時,用陳述語氣。
例如:
The smile on the boy’s face suggested that he was happy to have given his life to his motherland. 這個男孩臉上的微笑暗示出他很高興為自己的祖國獻出了生命。
When I suggested that some villagers must have come in for a free drink, Mr Thompson shook his head. 當我暗示說,這準是某些村民進來偷喝掉的,湯普森先生搖搖頭。
二、詞義辨析
1.seem, look 與appear的區(qū)別:
seem, look, appear這三個詞一般用作半系動詞,都可以漢譯作“似乎”或“看上去”。
(1)seem所表示的“似乎”或“看來”是以客觀的跡象為依據的。
例如:
A pilot noticed a balloon which seemed to be making for a Royal Air Force Station nearby.一位飛行員看到一個氣球,好象要飛向附近的英國空軍基地。
It seemed certain that this would win the prize.
這一塊要得獎似乎是毫無疑問的了。
(2)look所表示的“看來”是以視覺所接受的印象為依據的。例如:
He looked pale and his clothes were in a frightful state.
他看上去臉色蒼白,一身衣服弄得一塌糊涂。
My wife was wearing a hat that looked like a lighthouse.
我的妻子戴著一頂看起來好象一座燈塔的帽子。
(3)appear與上兩個詞的含義似乎沒有多大差異,但是如果要表示某種判斷是由被歪曲了的印象而得出的,或者是表示“表面似乎如此,而事實不是如此”的意思時,最好用appear。
例如:
Babies of two months old do not appear to be reluctant to enter the water.
兩個月的嬰兒并不顯得不肯下水。
The actress is thirty-five years old, but she appears a lot younger.

2.give up, give in, give out的區(qū)別:
(1)give in to somebody/something表示“向某人/某物屈服、讓步;投降”。后面不能直接接名詞,屬于不及物動詞的范疇。
例如:
He would rather die than give in. 他寧死不屈。
He has given in to my idea. 他已經順從了我的想法。
(2)give up: 后面接名詞或者動詞-ing形式,屬于及物動詞的范疇,意思是“放棄”。例如:
He gave up his position as then general manager. 他辭去了總經理的職位。
He had a hard time giving up smoking. 他戒煙很辛苦的。
(3)give out: 表示“分發(fā);用完,用盡”的意思。
例如:

Give the money out to the children.

Our food supply gave out at last.

His strength gave out(= run out). = He ran out of strength.=He was worn out.=He was tired out.他已精疲力竭。
三、重點句型
1.What do you think we can do to protect our cultural relics?
此句中的do you think為插入語。句子的疑問語序由它體現,而其它成分用陳述語序。做單項填空題時要注意這個現象。
2.Where there is a river, there is a city.
And we should build a website where people can look at the pictures and paintings.
這兩句都含有where引導的從句。第一句為where引導地點狀語從句,第二句為where引導一個定語從句。在where引導定語從句時,其前面往往有一個表示地點的詞作先行 詞,此句中的website即先行詞。
再如:
We should be sent where we are most needed. (where引導地點狀語從句)
We should be sent to the place where we are most needed. (where引導定語從句)
應該派我們到最需要的地方去。
3.Ronaldo has done more than just playing football.
Yao Ming has more than just size: he also has great skill and speed.
這兩句都包含有more than just結構。此處的意思是“不僅…,不止…”。
再如:
He did more than just helping us out, he also gave us a lot of money to set up a new school for poor children.
他不只是幫助我們擺脫了困境,而且還給了我們一大筆錢為窮孩子建了一所新學校。
They were more than willing to help you. 他們非常樂意幫助你。
Some of the stories were really more than could be believed.

四、語法復習
英語的語態(tài)有兩種:主動語態(tài)和被動語態(tài)。 主語是動作的發(fā)出者為主動語態(tài);主語是動作的接受者為被動語態(tài)。
被動語態(tài)的注意事項:
(1)若賓語補足語是不帶to 的不定式,變?yōu)楸粍诱Z態(tài)時,該不定式前要加”to“。此類動詞往往是感官動詞。如:feel, hear, help, listen to, look at, make, observe, see, notice, watch 等等。
例如:
The teacher made me go out of the classroom.
-->I was made to go out of the classroom (by the teacher). We saw him play football on the playground. -->He was seen to play football on the playground.
(2)帶有情態(tài)動詞的被動語態(tài):即:情態(tài)動詞+ be +過去分詞,構成被動語態(tài)。
例如:
Coal can be used to produce electricity for agriculture and industry.
煤炭可以用來為工農業(yè)生產發(fā)電。
(3)短語動詞是一個整體,不可丟掉后面的介詞或副詞。
例如:
This is a photo of the power station that has been set up in my hometown. (注意up)
這是我的家鄉(xiāng)剛剛建設的一座發(fā)電站的照片。
My sister will be taken care of by Grandma. (注意of)
我妹妹將由我奶奶照顧。
Such a thing has never been heard of before. (注意of)
過去從未聽說過這樣的事情。
(4)由believe, consider, declare, expect, feel , report, say, see, announce, suppose, think, understand等動詞構成的被動結構:
It is said that… 據說
It is reported that… 據報道
It is believed that… 大家相信
It is hoped that… 大家希望
已經宣布我們的飛行員已經安全歸來。
(5)不及物動詞或動詞短語如:appear, die, disappear, lost heart, come true, fall asleep, happen, last, lie, remain, sit, spread, stand, break out, keep silence, take place. 無被動語態(tài)。要想正確地使用被動語態(tài),就須注意哪些動詞是及物的,哪些是不及物的。特別是一詞多義的動詞往往有兩種用法。解決這一問題唯有在學習過程中多留意積累。
試比較下列句子:
(錯) The price has been risen. (不及物)
(對) The price has risen.
(錯) The accident was happened last week. (不及物)
(對) The accident happened last week.
(6) 不能用于被動語態(tài)的及物動詞或動詞短語:
fit, have, hold, marry, own, wish, cost, notice, watch agree with, arrive at / in, shake hands
with, succeed in, suffer from, happen to, take part in, walk into, belong to。
例如:
This key just fits the lock. 這把鑰匙就是開這把鎖的。
Your story agrees with what had already been heard. 你的故事與(我們)已經聽到的說法是一致的。
(7) 系動詞無被動語態(tài):
appear, be become, fall, feel, get, grow, keep, look, remain, seem, smell, sound, stay, taste,
turn。
例如:
It sounds good. 聽起來聲音不錯。
It tastes delicious. 嘗起來很香。
(8) 帶同源賓語的及物動詞,反身代詞,相互代詞,不能用于被動語態(tài):die, death, dream, live, life, smile。
例如:
She dreamed a bad dream last night. 昨天晚上她做了一個噩夢。
He died a heroic death. 他死得很英勇。
(9) 動詞wash, clean, cook, iron, look, cut, sell, read, wear, feel, draw, write, sell, drive… 用主動形式表示被動:
The book sells well. 這本書銷路好。
This knife cuts easily. 這刀子很好用。
(10) 特殊結構:make sb. heard / understood:使別人能聽見 / 理解自己have something done : 要別人做某事

[考點] 考察地點狀語從句。
[考例1] There were marks on her trousers ______ she had wiped her hands.

[解析] A which和that引導定語從句,故排除;when引導時間狀語從句,與句子的意思不符,應該用where引導地點狀語從句,本題的意思是“她的褲子上她檫過手的地方有臟痕”。

二、詞義辨析
1.one 、the one 、that 、it的區(qū)別:
(1)one用來代替前面提到的名詞,既可以指人由可以指物。用于泛指,相當于a/an+名詞,復數形式為ones。
例如:
I am looking for a house and I like one with a garden.
我正在找房子,我喜歡一幢帶有花園的房子。
I can’t find my hat. I think I must buy one.
我的帽子找不到了。我想我必須再買一頂了。
There is a young man and some old ones in the house.
這座房子里有一個年輕人和幾個老人。
(2)the one:用來代替同類事物中特指的另一個。例如:
I like the recorder better than the one I bought last year.
與去年我買的那個錄音機相比,我更喜歡這一個。(這時,the one 和that可以互換)
(3)that表示與前面所指的名詞為同類,但不是同一個;而it所指的名詞為同一個。That既可以代替可數名詞,也可以代替不可數名詞。例如:

I have a very good TV set. It is very large and beautiful.
2.take place, happen 與break out的區(qū)別:
這三個詞都是“發(fā)生”的意思,而且都沒有被動語態(tài)。
(1)happen表示“(偶然)發(fā)生”,或者“碰巧做某事”,強調事情的偶然性。
例如:
That accident happened at the corner.
那場事故發(fā)生在拐角處。
I happened to meet him in the street.?
=It happened that I met him in the street.
我偶然在街上遇到他。
(2)take place指“發(fā)生”,可以是有計劃地安排,也可以是無計劃或者安排。例如:
When will the ceremony take place? 儀式什么時候舉行?
A strong earthquake took place. 一場強烈地震發(fā)生了
(3)break out指“(火災、戰(zhàn)爭等)突然發(fā)生、爆發(fā)”。例如:

三、重點句型

這是動詞prefer的幾個常用結構,在使用時要把每一個搭配分清楚。
2.Is anybody seeing you off?
這是一個現在進行時態(tài)表示將來的句型。值得注意的是并非所有動詞都可以用此結構,常用此結構的動詞有:come, go , leave, start, return, see, stay等等。
3.Before she could move, she heard a loud noise, which grew to a terrible roar.
此句中的before意思是“還沒有來得及…就…”,要注意before的中文翻譯。
再如:
Before I could get up from my bed, the general gave me a telephone call and told me to start at once.
4.It didn’t take long before the wooden building was swallowed by the fire.
此句中的before意思是“不久以后就…”;如果用肯定句,before的意思就會有大的變化。
例如:
It will take long before we can get the key.
我們還要過很久才能拿到鑰匙。(before的意思是“要多長時間以后才…”)

(一)現在進行時的用法小結:
1.現在進行時的基本用法:
(1)表示說話人說話時 正在發(fā)生的事情。
We are waiting for you.
我們正在等你。
(2)表示習慣性的進行,即表示長期的或重復性的動作,說話時動作未必正在進行。
Mr. White is writing his new book.
懷特先生正在寫他的新書。(說話時并未在寫,只處于寫作的狀態(tài)。)
(3)表示動作的漸變。??梢杂么擞梅ǖ膭釉~有:get, grow, become, turn, run, go, begin等。
The leaves are turning green. 樹葉正在變成綠色。
(4)現在進行時 與always, constantly, forever 等詞連用,表示反復發(fā)生的動作或持續(xù)存在的狀態(tài),往往帶有說話人的主觀色彩。
You are always changing your mind.
你總是變來變去的(拿不定主意)。
He is always bothering me. 他老是打擾我。
(5)某些動詞的現在進行時形式可以用來表示將來,意思是:”意圖“、”打算“、”安排“、常用來指人。常用詞為 come, go, start, arrive, leave, stay等。
They are starting to learn English tomorrow.
他們明天將開始學習英語。
(一)定語從句復習第一部分:
1.定語從句(Attributive Clauses)在句中起定語的作用,修飾一個名詞或代詞,有時還可以修飾整個主句。被修飾的詞叫做先行詞。定語從句通常出現在先行詞之后,由關系詞(關系代詞或關系副詞)引出。
關系代詞所代替的先行詞是代表人或物的名詞或代詞,并在句中充當主語、賓語、定語等成分。關系代詞在定語從句中作主語時,定語從句謂語動詞的人稱和數要和先行詞保持一致。
(1)who, whom, that代替的先行詞是指人的名詞或代詞:
Is he the man who/that wants to see you?
他就是你想見的人嗎?(who/that在從句中作主語)
He is the man whom/ that I saw yesterday.
他就是我昨天見的那個人。(whom/that在從句中作賓語)
(2) whose 既可以指人又可以指物,只用作定語;若指物,它還可以同of which互換。
例如:
They rushed over to help the man whose car had broken down.
那個人的汽車壞了,他們都跑過去幫忙。
Please pass me the book whose (of which) cover is red.
請遞給我那本紅皮的書。
(3)which, that 所代替的先行詞是事物的名詞或代詞,在從句中可作主語、賓語等,
例如:
A prosperity which / that had never been seen before appears in the countryside. 農村出現了前所未有的繁榮。(which / that在句中作主語)
The package (which / that) you are carrying is very heavy. 你拿的包很重。(which / that在句中作賓語)
2.關系代詞不能用that的情況 :
(1) 在引導非限定性定語從句時。指人只能用who/whom/whose,指物只能用which/whose。例如:
The tree, which is four hundred years old, is very famous here.
這棵樹在這里很出名,它已經有4樹齡了。
The story, which my brother told yesterday, is very interesting.
我弟弟昨天講的那個故事很有趣。
(2) 介詞后不能用that,指人只能用whom/whose,指物只能用which/whose。例如:
We depend on the land from which we get our food.
我們依靠土地來收獲糧食。
We depend on the land that/which we get our food from. (當介詞在句末時,that和which可以互換)
3.只能用that作為定語從句的關系代詞的情況
(1)在there be 句型中,只用that,不用which。
Long long ago, there was a small village that was located at the foot of a mountain.
很久以前,有一個小小的村子坐落在山腳下。
(2)不定代詞,如:anything, nothing, the one, all, much, few, any, little等作先行詞的時候,只用that,不用which。
All that is needed is a supply of oil.
所需的只是供油問題。
Finally, the thief handed everything that he had stolen to the police.
那賊最終把偷的全部東西交給了警察。
(3)先行詞有the only, the very修飾時,只用that。
The book is the only one that I can find in my house.
這本書是我在家里能夠找到的唯一的書。
(4)先行詞中含有序數詞、數詞、形容詞最高級時,只用that。.
This is the best food that we can give you.
這是我們能給你們提供的最好的食物了。
This is the second time that I have told you to go away.
這已經是我第二次讓你們走開了。
(5)先行詞既有指人的詞,又有指物的詞時。
We talked about the things and persons that we remembered at that time.
我們談論了那時我們能夠記起的人和事。

[考點] 考查 like與imagine的搭配。
